Thomas Dekkers

Thomas completed a degree in Physiology at University College Cork in 2005 with 1st class honors before qualifying as a Physiotherapist from the University of East Anglia, UK in 2008. He worked for a number of years in the UK between the National Health Service (NHS), private practice and elite sports and then travelled to the University of Queensland, Australia in 2013 to complete a Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, further specialising in spinal and sports injuries. 

He returned to Harley Street in London working at the The Centre for Health and Human Performance (CHHP) in both clinical and managerial roles. He also underwent further training to become a Certified Strength & Conditioning  Specialist. During this time he also worked with the English Institute of Sport, treating Team GB Olympic athletes from various disciplines such as athletics, canoeing and martial arts. . In addition he took up a research and teaching role at the Institute of Sport, Exercise & Health (ISEH) at University College London.

In 2016 he returned to Ireland to co-found Evolve Health and also began working as a Physiotherapist with the Cork Senior Football team. In his clinical practice he now specialises in spinal pain and sports injuries, working with clients from a range of backgrounds.

Outside of physiotherapy he has always loved sport. He represented Cork and Munster in underage soccer before winning national honours with University College Cork. In recent years he has developed an interest in martial arts and endurance sports such as triathlon and fell running.
